To the Thai people, elephants symbolize strength an therefore, they are worshipped in a special way. A lot of artwork, temples and souvenirs are often decorated with elephants. Our facility was designed to meet the special needs of our precious pachyderms. They even receive a yearly check-up from a government appointed veterinarian. There, elephants had to work very hard dragging and moving huge hardwood trees and only had life expectancies of fifty or sixty years. Right now, eight elephants live at our trekking facility which is approximately ten thousand square meters with a small lake where the where the elephants bathe daily. If you come in the early morning or late afternoon you may have the opportunity to meet our elephants while they are having their daily bath.

Phangan Long Stay Rock Bar - amidst the mountain setting with the beach view, the Rock Bar serves a selection of cocktail with your favorite music from 05:00 pm. until midnight. A sign warns not to take seashells and corals from the bay, respect this as it is haven for nature and it is illegal to take them home. Located at the west end of Ao Sri Thanu, the village is the area?s main fishing port, though it is only deep enough to handle smaller squid fishing boats and longtail boats thus it is still fairly tranquil. Had Yao means Long Beach is picture postcard material, with a one kilometre beach that is wide enough to play football on, sunset views, beautiful vistas and more than enough space to allow for it?s ever expanding popularity. The shoreline is approximately 600 metres long and there is very little on it except for tall shady coconut palms and acres of white sand. Had Mae Had is also a local dive site - many companies on Koh Pha-Ngan offer snorkelling and scuba diving trips to the nearby island of Koh Ma, which has a stunning coral reef.

PAC is a non-profit organisation, developed to provide essential care for the many ill and suffering stray animals of Koh PhaNgan. We aim to greatly improve the quality of life of PhaNgan's animals by providing emergency relief and nursing care. PAC Ko Pangan has been gratefully embraced by the local residents of the island, as there has never been any option to obtain treatment unless the animal was brought to the adjacent island. PAC also hopes to eradicate (or at least minimise) the rabies virus from Ko Pangan island. You can now sponsor treatment for a stray animal and receive a picture and update of the treatment that your donation has provided.
